Small groups, unique destinations, and a curiosity to explore will always be what sets Magic Places Cycling Adventures apart from larger competitors, and our choice of sublime destinations for 2027 –Japan, Norway and Patagonia – reflect these key principles.
Matt Barlee
This year we radically reduced our line-up of spectacular cycling destinations to just three very special magic places for purely selfish reasons. Here’s the thing. We’re at a point both in life and in our cycle touring business where focusing on just a few destinations of the highest value is the clearest pathway to connecting with our roots, finding a deeper sense of meaning, and experiencing our client’s overwhelming feelings of elation, satisfaction and gratitude as we conclude each tour.
In 2027 we’ve planned extensive itineraries to three of the best of the last remaining under-explored cycle touring destinations the world has to offer. How about sea to summit across Japan’s Kyushu and Shikoku islands? Or island hopping inside the arctic circle on Norway’s spectacular Lofoten Islands? Or cycle touring along Patagonia’s gravel-heavy Carretera Austral and the paved Ruta 40 through wild and dramatic landscapes?

Don’t see something you like, or the dates don’t work out? No worries! We’d be delighted to put together a Custom Cycling Tour for you and your friends! After 39 years visiting cycling destinations worldwide, you can be sure that we know every hidden gem: the best food and accommodations, the best cycling routes, the best locals, and an itinerary that leaves you exhilarated and exhausted. We invite you to be selfish and exclusive with us as you ponder a personalized custom cycle tour with Magic Places Cycling Adventures in 2027.
Not sure where you want to ride? Feel free to drop me a line and I'll be happy to explain our collection of trips, from close-to-home to far-flung international destinations help find the tour just right for you.
