Elbows Up!
With the US Government’s escalating threats and actions against Canada, Magic Places is compelled to do our part to stand up for Canadians. Effective immediately, we will no longer be offering bicycle tours in the United States. We don't take this loss lightly as you'll read in this open letter regarding the orange outrage…
So long, USA. Thanks for the memories.
Dear America,
It’s not you, it’s me. Well actually, it’s your parents.
I’m normally not one to reminisce, but we really did have some incredible times together. My Canadian and European friends and I had some very memorable adventures in your back yard, whether racing up and down in your mighty Colorado Rockies, winding through the ochre-hued landscapes of your majestic Canyonlands, or spinning down the coastline of your beautiful Pacific Coast Highway.
Unfortunately, your parents are assholes and they’ve decided that they want to destroy everything that my friends and I hold dear, so until they stop, we’re not coming to visit any more. I really hope that you will talk to them, otherwise they’re going to destroy not only my back yard and your back yard, but probably the entire neighbourhood.
I’ve heard you say that they just won’t listen to you, but if YOU don’t make them stop, who will?

In all seriousness, we here at Magic Places do not take this decision lightly.
We’ve enjoyed the hospitality and beauty of the USA for decades and we have a number of American clients as well. Unfortunately, the unhinged, predatory and intimidating behaviour of the American government against Canada (not to mention numerous other countries) has forced us to stop doing business in the USA. We simply will not support an economy that seeks to destroy ours. I realize that many of our American friends are as repulsed by their government’s behaviour as the rest of the world is, and I hope that this revulsion drives action on their part. Until then, we will continue to offer world-class bicycle tours to fantastic destinations worldwide and we hope you’ll choose wisely when deciding where and with whom you’ll plan your next cycling holiday.
